In fading or removing the tattoo, there will be a need for 6 or more peeling. This is the reason why TCA has to be reapplied after 4 to 5 weeks.

It would be definitely impossible to predict how long the tattoo would be completely removed. This will depend on the size and color of the tattoo. This also depends on who inked the tattoo. Compared to professionally inked tattoos, those tattoos inked by amateurs tend to have higher success rates. Evidently, TCA is highly effective and highly advisable if you want to get rid of unwanted tattoo(s). 

Scarification effects of the TCA then will depend on many individual factors as well that are not really tattoo-related. One of these factors is the skin type. Because of this, the reactions of our skin to chemicals also vary. It would be best to conduct a test so that you may determine if your skin will react harshly when you apply a small amount of TCA. Nevertheless, TCA is generally safe to use that is why it can be purchased even without prescription.
